June 27 session

Alabasters
June 27, 2011

a.) Praise God for the victory
b.) In Seth's dream, he killed the big snake(the old serpent) in the church,
but he said at the back of his mind, he knew the devil is still around, well,
you cannot kill him, he's alive, so don't sit back and relax
c.) Stay on the cutting edge/ stay anointed…how?

The anointing should be drawn daily(prayer, worship, Word). It sustains our relationship with God, and keep us on the edge/impact.

The fresh manna was gathered every morning. Manna is an angel’s food. Then the Lord said,
I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions…Each morning every one gathered as much as he needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away” Exodus 16:4,21.

Manna is a clear example of the Israelite’s enforced dependence on God; they had to rely on Him every day for 40 years, just to survive.

We cannot survive without the presence of God. After the day’s toil, our anointing recedes, lessens, fades, we need to replenish it.

The rabble(mixed multitude, the crowd) with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost---also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic, but now we have lost our appetite, we never see anything but this manna…The lord heard you when you wailed “if only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!...Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will eat it, you will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, but for the whole month---until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it---because you have rejected the Lord…Now a wind went our form the lord and drove a quail in from the sea. It brought them down all around the camp to about three feet above the ground, as fad as a day’s walk in any direction. All the day and night and all the next day the people went out and gathered quail. No one gathered less than ten homers. But while the meat was still between their teeth and before it could be consumed, the anger of the Lord burned against the people, and He struck them with severe plague. Therefore the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had craved for food.” Numbers 11:4-6, 18-20, 31-34

Stay with people who are anointed, rub on with them (1 Kings 17 and 2 Kings). Remember the mixed crowd who went with the Israelites.

The Elijah and Elisha relationship. 2 Kings 2:1-13.

When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven. From Gilgal-Bethel-Jericho-Jordan. Elijah always sade to his servant to “stay here” but Elisha’s response “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.”

Indeed Elisha receive the double portion of Elijah’s anointing. Elijah’s anointing:
a.) Elijah: at his words, the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry(during famine).
b.) At his word, there was no rain for three and a half years.
c.) At his word, the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced crops.
d.) At Mt. Carmel, Elijah doused his own altar with 12 jars of water(a precious commodity after three and a half years of drought) he called God and fire from heaven burned up the sacrifice, he killed the prophets of Baal.
e.) Take note: after that great victory, Elijah was discouraged and fled upon learning that Jezebel planned to kill him (1 Kings 19:1-18).

The Lord appeared to Elijah and said: “What are you doing here Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected Your covenant, broken down Your altars, and put Your prophets to death with a sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me”…the Lord said “anoint Elisha to succeed you as prophet” 1 Kings 19:16

“God cannot use a discouraged person.” That’s why we need to pray for our leaders.

Revelation 3:11 “Behold I am coming quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”

“Unsay naa sa imoha karon, guniti pag-ayo para dili mailog sa uban.”

The call of Elisha: 1 Kings 19:19-21.
The miracles of Elisha, doubled than that of Elijah, that even at the touched of his bones, the man lived.
